Meat CSA – Month 2

Meat time!

Our second round of meat includes the following

Ground Pork
Ground Beef
Beef Summer Sausage
Goat Steak
Whole Chicken
Chicken Breast
Beef Round Roast
Beef Chuck Roast
Beef Rib Steak
and peppermint soap! 

In addition we also purchased Bacon & Beef Stew Meat from the farmers. Since this week included snow and “ice” storms in Nashville, our original pickup day got canceled. So this week we had to go to the West Nashville Farmers Market to pick up our delivery. Two thumbs up for this place! Its no big farmers market by any means, just a few tables in a small room, but its all real farmers, selling real local products! I didn’t have to worry about any of the vendors being shady, and selling the same stuff you could get at the grocery store.

We hit up our favorite goat cheese makers Noble Springs Dairy, and also purchased some cheese from Kenny’s Artisan Cheese from Kentucky.  There was produce, farm fresh eggs, locally made candles, local honey, vegan dog treats (ya…..I’m not buying into that one….) and also another meat farm that also sold unpasturized milk, including goat’s milk! I had been trying to find someone selling this, to try and make my own goat cheese, but it was pretty pricey. Maybe next time!
